Description

Description

  • Lentil lectin coupled to Sepharose 4B via cyanogen bromide activation
  • Lentil lectin is a metalloprotein, containing Ca2+ and Mn2+, which binds reversibly to polysaccharides and glycoconjugates containing glucose or mannose type sugars
  • Retains binding in 1% deoxycholate; especially suited for purification of detergent-solubilized membrane proteins
  • Ligand concentration 2 mg Lentil lectin/ml; binding capacity for porcine thyroglobulin approx. 16mg/mL medium
  • Average particle size 90μm
  • Stable in the pH range 3-10, and in the presence of all commonly used buffers (Chelating agents and 8M urea to be avoided)
  • Has more equal affinity for α-D-mannose and α-D-glucose compared to Con A
