Porcine TGF alpha quantitates porcine TGF alpha in serum, plasma, supernatant. The assay will exclusively recognize both natural and recombinant porcine TGF alpha.
TGF-alpha is an EGF-related polypeptide growth factor that signals through the EGF receptor, and stimulates the proliferation of a wide range of epidermal and epithelial cells. It is produced by monocytes, keratinocytes, and various tumor cells. TGF-alpha induces anchorage-independence transformation in cultured cells. Human, murine and rat TGF-alpha are cross-species reactive. TGFalpha (aa 50) is a growth factor with 33% homology to EGF, binds to EGFR, activates tyrosine phosphorylation of the receptor, and stimulates cell proliferation. It plays a role in tumor initiation by inducing the reversible transformed phenotype.Specifications
