Description

L-type calcium channel blocker; induces apoptosis in human glioblastoma cells.Nifedipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker used as L-type calcium channel blocker, antianginal and an antihypertensive . It induces apoptosis in human glioblastoma cells. It is used as a coronary vasodilator in the treatment of cardiac and circulatory disorders. Further, it is used in high-altitude medicine to treat high altitude pulmonary edema, hypertension and chronic stable angina. In addition, it is frequently used as a tocolytic agent.
