Description
Hydrobromic acid is used for the production of inorganic bromides of zinc, calcium, and sodium. It is used as a catalyst in some alkylation reactions. In the field of metallurgy, it is employed in the extraction of certain ores. Further, it is used as a reagent for the cleavage of certain ether linkages or as a brominating agent in organic transformations.
This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.
