Description

Maintains accurate temperature control of ±0.01°C within the range 20° to 100°C and ±0.03°C above 100°C—ideal for ASTM D 445 kinematic viscosity specifications.

• Two electric heating elements rapidly heat medium to any desired temperature within range
• Cooling coil permits operation below or slightly above ambient temperature when connected to tap water or cooling system
• Selector switch on front panel facilitates setting of ten temperatures ranging from 20° to 150°C for kinematic viscosity determinations
• After temperature has been selected, bath equilibrates to within 0.2° of desired temperature
• Fine-tune control allows temperature adjustment to within ±0.01°C
• By switching to VARIABLE setting, any temperature within operating range can be obtained
• Solid-state control circuit provides proportional control of temperature with thermistor sensing element
• Motor-driven stirrer ensures uniform temperature throughout bath
• Clear, cylindrical glass bath chamber measures 11 13/16 in. diameter × 11 13/16 in. high (30 × 30cm) and is illuminated by two fluorescent lamps
• Stainless-steel baffle in center of bath provides a plain reflective background for viewing instruments

Safety Features

• Special thermistor senses any overtemperature condition and shuts down power to bath until overtemperature limit circuit is reset
• Another feature cuts power to heaters if control thermistor is disconnected
• Liquid-level control prevents heaters from operating when liquids are below safe operating level

All wetted parts are made of stainless steel or glass. Housing is fabricated from heavy aluminum and coated with corrosion-resistant epoxy finish. Top cover consists of three parts: stainless-steel top surface, an insulating layer, and bottom stainless-steel heat reflector. Top cover contains seven holes for insertion of viscometer holders; two additional holes are provided for thermometers. Measures 18.25L x 17.25W x 23 in.H (46 x 44 x 59cm). Shipping weight, 123 lb.
