4-Hydroxythiophenol is used to improve charge separation in PbSe quantum dots (QDs) as sensitizers for TiO2. It helps in the activation of neocarzinostatin-chromophore. Also used as a resin monomer in the study of the different gold nanocrystal core-resin shell structures
