2,7-Naphthalenediol is a reagent used in the preparation of monomers of high carbon materials. Also used in the synthesis of splitomicin analogues. Used as Starting material for the synthesis of sulfonic acids and divinylnaphthalenes. It is also used in making dyes, pigments, fluorescent whiteners, tanning agents, antioxidants, and antiseptics.
