Description
1-Adamantanamine acts as a catalyst in enantioselective strecker reaction of phosphinoyl imines. It is also useful for making adamantane derivatives, i.e. amantadine hydrochloride. It is used in the pharmaceutical industry as antiviral and an antiparkinsonian drug.
